The Denver Broncos released wide receivers Eli Pancol and Cam Ross from their practice squad on Tuesday as part of a series of roster adjustments that also brought in running back Jaret Patterson, defensive tackle Jordan Miller, and defensive back Ugo Amadi, the team announced.

The moves leave Denver’s 17-man practice squad full heading into this week’s game against the Carolina Panthers.

Pancol had joined the Broncos just a week earlier, on October 27, after a brief stop with the Indianapolis Colts.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound undrafted free agent out of Duke spent time on the Colts’ practice squad in both 2025 and 2026 and had earlier signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars following the 2025 draft.

He has yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game.

In five seasons with the Blue Devils, he caught 130 passes for 1,710 yards and 14 touchdowns, earning third-team All-ACC honors and the league’s Brian Piccolo Award in 2024 after a strong final campaign that included 60 receptions for 798 yards and nine scores. With the Colts this preseason he recorded four catches for 47 yards.

Ross, a 5-foot-10, 186-pound undrafted rookie from Virginia, had returned to Denver’s practice squad on October 6 after going through training camp with the Broncos and being waived at final cuts.

His re-signing came amid injuries at wide receiver, including Pat Bryant’s ankle issue. During the preseason he caught five passes for 29 yards while also contributing on returns and a couple of carries.

College-wise, Ross played at UConn, James Madison, and Virginia; as a senior with the Cavaliers he hauled in 53 receptions for 543 yards and two touchdowns while also returning kicks.

He was among several receivers brought in for a tryout before the Broncos elected to keep him.

The releases cleared space after the Broncos promoted safety Taylor Rapp from the practice squad to the active roster over the weekend, when they also placed running back RJ Harvey on injured reserve.

Amadi and Miller are familiar names in Denver; Amadi had been on the practice squad until being released to make room for Pancol last week, while Miller had previously spent time with the organization.

Patterson, a former Buffalo standout and MAC Offensive Player of the Year, adds another body at running back, a position where Denver has been managing limited healthy depth behind J.K. Dobbins and Jonah Coleman.

Both Pancol and Ross will now hit free agency.

Their brief tenures underscore the constant churn on practice squads, where teams continually reshuffle developmental players to address immediate needs in coverage, return roles, or other positions while the 53-man roster navigates injuries and in-season demands.

Denver’s receiver room on the active roster remains anchored by Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims, Troy Franklin, and others, with the practice squad still holding Michael Bandy, Kolbe Katsis, and Dane Key.

The club has not commented further on the specific decisions beyond the official announcement of the five practice-squad transactions.
