For surfers, the timing feels fortuitous. The incoming energy has improved conditions at popular spots, offering overhead waves at times and supporting events like the U.S. Open of Surfing, where competitors benefit from the enhanced swell.
Yet the dual nature of tropical systems is evident here: distant storms can deliver thrilling rides while simultaneously creating hidden dangers beneath the surface.
Forecasters expect Fausto to maintain its strength for a short period before gradually weakening as it encounters cooler waters and less favorable atmospheric conditions.
