Braves manager Walt Weiss has now provided an encouraging update, announcing that Acuña will take the field for Triple-A Gwinnett during Thursday night’s game and that there remains a realistic possibility he could be activated as soon as Friday in time for the series opener against Baltimore.
“Acuña will play for Gwinnett tonight. There is a possibility he’s activated tomorrow. If not tomorrow, almost certainly this weekend,” MLB.com’s Mark Bowman reported.
