The Los Angeles Dodgers added a tall right-hander to their organization on the same day the Milwaukee Brewers closed out the World Series.

According to the MiLB.com transactions log, the club signed free-agent right-handed pitcher Alberto Santos to a minor-league contract. The official entry stated, “Los Angeles Dodgers signed free agent RHP Alberto Santos to a minor league contract.”

Santos stands 6 feet 5 inches and weighs 189 pounds. He was born June 7, 2009, in Peravia, Dominican Republic, making him 17 years old at the time of the signing.

No professional statistics have been published for Santos. He previously appeared in the MLB Amateur Scouting League, where he was assigned to the Purple-South team in June.

The Dodgers completed the move quietly while attention centered on the championship series. The Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 5 at Tropicana Field on Wednesday to claim the title.

Los Angeles finished the regular season with a 100-62 record and first place in the National League West. That mark secured the National League’s No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the playoffs.

The Dodgers then beat the Atlanta Braves three games to one in the National League Division Series. Their postseason run ended with a four-game sweep at the hands of the Brewers in the National League Championship Series.

The club had won the World Series in both 2024 and 2025. A 2026 title would have made them the first team to capture three consecutive Fall Classics since the New York Yankees from 1998 through 2000.

Minor-league contracts of this type carry no immediate 40-man roster implications. Teams commonly add such players in the days after the World Series to evaluate depth options for the following spring.

Santos joins an organization that has prioritized international amateur talent in recent years. The Amateur Scouting League provides a platform for Dominican prospects ages 15 to 18 to perform in front of scouts from all 30 major-league clubs.

The Dodgers have not disclosed additional contract terms, salary figures or whether Santos will receive a spring-training invitation. Those details typically emerge closer to the start of camp.

For now, the 17-year-old remains an under-the-radar organizational addition. Public information is limited to his listed height, weight, birthplace and the June assignment in the scouting league.

The timing places the transaction squarely in the opening days of the offseason. Free-agent filings and roster decisions for the 2027 season began immediately after the Brewers’ clincher.

Santos will likely begin the next phase of his development in the Dominican Republic or at one of the Dodgers’ domestic minor-league affiliates once assignments are finalized.
