Los Angeles Rams Announce Brutal Davante Adams Injury News

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams suffered a ruptured hamstring and will be sidelined for six to 10 weeks, coach Sean McVay told reporters Monday.

The news ends any hope that Adams could return quickly after he limped off late in Sunday’s 18-16 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. McVay confirmed the diagnosis after further evaluation, giving the team a clear timeline for one of its key offensive pieces.

Adams pulled up on a non-contact play while running a route near the end zone in the fourth quarter. He reached for his left leg and walked to the sideline under his own power. He did not return for the final snap of that drive, which ended with a touchdown that the Cardinals later overcame on a game-winning field goal.

The Rams had not received an official update immediately after the game, leaving the severity unclear until Monday. A full rupture typically requires weeks of rest and rehabilitation before a player can resume football activities. The projected absence covers at least the next several games and could stretch deeper into the season depending on healing.

Adams entered the Cardinals game with 30 catches for 480 yards and four touchdowns through six games. Those numbers kept him productive in a Rams offense that also features Puka Nacua. His red-zone presence has been a steady factor for quarterback Matthew Stafford this season.

This is not Adams’ first hamstring issue with the Rams. He dealt with similar problems late last year and missed the final three regular-season games before returning for the playoffs. Those earlier setbacks made the current diagnosis more significant for the coaching staff.

The Rams signed Adams to a two-year contract after the Jets released him in the 2025 offseason. The move reunited him with Stafford and gave the team a proven veteran to complement younger receivers. His production has helped the offense remain efficient even when other players have been limited.

Without Adams, the receiving group will lean more heavily on Nacua and the depth options behind him. The coaching staff has not yet announced any roster additions to fill the gap. Practice participation for the remaining wideouts will be monitored closely in the coming days.

Adams finished Sunday with three receptions for 39 yards before the injury. The Cardinals’ defense limited the Rams’ passing attack for much of the afternoon. The narrow loss left Los Angeles looking for ways to generate more consistent production moving forward.

McVay has not provided additional details beyond the confirmed rupture and the six-to-10-week window. Further updates are expected as Adams begins rehabilitation under the team’s medical staff. Imaging and functional testing will guide any decisions about his return date.

The timeline means Adams will miss the Rams’ upcoming game against the Las Vegas Raiders and several contests after that. The team faces a stretch of division and conference opponents during his absence. Depth at receiver will be tested as the Rams try to stay competitive in the NFC West.

Rehabilitation for a ruptured hamstring usually starts with rest and physical therapy before progressing to strength work. The medical team will track swelling and range of motion in the early stages. Return-to-play will depend on how Adams responds rather than a fixed calendar date.

Fantasy football managers and betting markets adjusted quickly to the report. Adams had been viewed as a reliable weekly contributor because of his target share and touchdown production. His absence opens more opportunities for other Rams pass-catchers in the short term.

The Rams continue preparations for their next game while managing the injury. No long-term concerns beyond the stated recovery period have been indicated.

Additional information will be released as the rehabilitation process advances and Adams progresses through the recovery stages.
