The Phoenix Suns claimed forward Drew Timme off waivers on Monday and immediately converted his Exhibit 10 contract into a two-way deal, filling one of their open two-way slots.

Michael Scotto of HoopsHype first reported the claim, with John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports confirming the conversion.

The move comes on the final day teams can convert an Exhibit 10 agreement into a two-way contract.

Timme, a 6-foot-9 power forward, arrives in Phoenix after a brief training-camp stint with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Wolves signed him to a non-guaranteed deal this fall but waived him Saturday as they finalized their regular-season roster.

Prior to Minnesota, Timme spent most of the 2025-26 season on a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.

He made his NBA debut late in the 2024-25 season with the Brooklyn Nets. Across 36 regular-season games with those two teams, he averaged 5.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 13.6 minutes per game.

His production has been far stronger in the G League. Last season with the South Bay Lakers, Timme posted 23.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 21 games, shooting 54.5 percent from the field and 76.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Those numbers continued a pattern established during his college career at Gonzaga, where he became a three-time consensus All-American, a two-time West Coast Conference Player of the Year, and the program’s all-time leading scorer.

An efficient interior scorer who operates well around the basket, Timme went undrafted in 2023 before beginning his professional career in the G League.

For the Suns, Timme joins Duop Reath and Pat Spencer as two-way players. Phoenix waived Koby Brea and CJ Huntley earlier Monday to create the necessary roster flexibility.

Timme will be eligible to appear in as many as 50 NBA regular-season games. His two-way deal is worth $678,882 if he remains on the roster past the league-wide guarantee date in January.

The addition gives Phoenix additional frontcourt depth while starting center Mark Williams recovers from shoulder surgery that is expected to sideline him for several months.

Timme’s path from undrafted college star to multiple NBA stints has been marked by strong G League production and limited opportunities at the highest level.

With the Suns dealing with an extended absence in the middle, he now has another chance to show whether his interior scoring and rebounding can translate into consistent NBA minutes.
