Bronny James, son of the iconic NBA player LeBron James, is experiencing a rather understated first year at the University of Southern California (USC).

As a former high-rated recruit, he’s averaging 5.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in each game for the USC Trojans. Despite recovering from a cardiac event earlier in the summer, he has participated in 11 games this season.

Ex-NBA player Gilbert Arenas has shared his thoughts on Bronny’s performance, suggesting he needs to adopt a more assertive approach on the court. Arenas compares Bronny to Jrue Holiday but with added athleticism. He believes Bronny has the potential to excel if he unleashes his more aggressive side.

“Bronny…he’s a Jrue Holiday, just more athletic,” Gilbert Arenas said. “If he turns on his tiger, for sure. He just plays the right way.

According to Arenas, while Bronny possesses significant talent, he seems to be playing it safe, likening him to someone with a powerful car who prefers to drive within the speed limit to avoid trouble.

“… We don’t know what he really is. He has the Bugatti engine, but he wants to drive the speed limit,” Arenas said. “He don’t want a ticket. ‘I don’t want a ticket.’ That’s how he uses his body.”

Arenas, known for his memorable games against LeBron James during his career, maintains a close relationship with LeBron and his family.

Speculation is rife about the possibility of Bronny teaming up with his father LeBron in the NBA. However, for Bronny to be considered a top draft pick after just one college season, he might need to elevate his game further.
