Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is about to start his first playoff game, but he is remaining cool, calm and collected, much like he did during the second half of the regular season.
When asked if he would be doing anything differently heading into the Packers’ Wild Card Round clash against the Dallas Cowboys, Love said it will pretty much be status quo.
“Every game I go through a checklist of what I tell myself, things to try to tell myself to relax, calm down, see the game, let it come to me, and just focus on all the little details that I can focus on, control what I can control,” Love said, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN. “So I don’t think it will be any different than any other game.”
The thing is, Green Bay will be playing in Dallas, where the Cowboys went undefeated this season. But Love does not seem intimidated by the road matchup.
“Obviously, it will be an away game, it will be a loud environment,” said Love. “So just trying to get my feet and get settled into the game will be huge.”
Love has enjoyed a spectacular season, throwing for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while completing 64.2 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 96.1.
The 25-year-old especially came alive over the last month-and-a-half, totaling 18 passing touchdowns and just one pick over his last eight games. The Packers went 6-2 in those contests.
Green Bay was 3-6 at one point earlier in the season, which was due much in part to Love’s struggles and inconsistency over the first couple of months. However, the Utah State product certainly found his footing as the year progressed and ended up leading the Packers to a 9-8 record in his first full season as the club’s full-time starter under center.
Jordan Love and Co. were able to nab the final Wild Card spot in the NFC. They will take on the Cowboys on Sunday afternoon.
