Cleveland Cavaliers big man Evan Mobley will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee and is expected to miss six to eight weeks, according to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Mobley will have a loose body removed from his left knee.

Mobley is averaging 16.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.7 blocks for the Cavaliers this season while shooting 57.3% from the field, 20.0% from beyond the arc and 76.9% from the free-throw line.

Mobley is one of three players averaging 15 points, 10 rebounds and 55% shooting this season along with Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and Sacramento Kings All-Star Domantas Sabonis, according to ESPN Stats & Information.
The Cavaliers drafted Mobley with the third overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft out of USC. Mobley has career averages of 15.7 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.6 blocks. He made the 2022-23 All-Defensive First Team.
The Cavaliers are 13-12 on the season. They are in ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings.
“Their energy, their body language, their swagger — it was just pitiful,” an exec told Steve Bulpett of Heavy Sports. “It was so bad. I’ve never seen a team that good have such bad body language. They’ve got real talent, but you could just see it early in the series that they had no confidence in one another. Just no swagger. Even in front of their home crowd. Nothing.”

Along with Mobley, the Cavaliers also lost point guard Darius Garland to an injury. The All-Star will have surgery after he fractured his jaw in a collision with Boston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis.
