Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese has been determined to show people that Caitlin Clark isn’t the only rookie worth paying attention to. When those two have matched up thus far this season, it has been a blockbuster event.

The games between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever have set records when it comes to viewership and attendance. Angel Reese is attempting to drum up as much attention as Clark has been with her performance on the court.

The team has to be thrilled with the production they have received from the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft to this point. Despite her efficiency not being where she’d like it, with a 40.9 shooting percentage, Angel Reese is still stuffing the stat sheet.

She is averaging 13.5 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.6 steals in 30.5 minutes per game. Against the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday night, she had another big game with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

The Chicago Sky fell short, losing 95-83. But, it is a game that Angel Reese will remember forever because she made some impressive WNBA history.

It was the ninth straight game that the LSU product has recorded a double-double. That makes her the youngest player in WNBA history to reach that mark and tie Candace Parker for the most consecutive in a single season.

Since the streak started on June 4th against the New York Liberty, Angel Reese has averaged 15.8 points and 12.9 rebounds per game. During that stretch, she recorded career-highs in both categories in a single game.

On June 20th against the Dallas Wings, she grabbed 18 rebounds, including a career-high tying eight on the offensive glass. Against Clark and the Fever on June 25th, she helped the Chicago Sky to an impressive come-from-behind win when she scored 25.

The only downside to her double-double streak is the lack of team success. The Chicago Sky have gone only 3-6, yet still find themselves in the final playoff spot should the WNBA season end today.
