The Minnesota Vikings have emerged as a leading contender in the pursuit of Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor as the NFL trade deadline approaches on November 10.

With an offense that has struggled to find consistent explosiveness despite a strong overall start to the season, Minnesota has been linked to Taylor in multiple reports as a potential difference-maker who could elevate the ground game and open up the passing attack for Justin Jefferson and the rest of the skill positions.

The fit makes sense on paper for a team looking to maximize its championship window, and the Vikings have been mentioned among the teams monitoring Taylor’s availability amid the Colts’ roster reshuffling.

Taylor addressed the ongoing speculation in a locker room interview on Thursday, emphasizing the strain of the waiting game.

“Everybody wants clarity,” Taylor said. “No one wants uncertainty. No one wants uncertainty.”

The three-time Pro Bowl back described the rumors as something that has become almost routine after several weeks of talk, but he pointed to the Colts’ recent trades of longtime teammates Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner as the moment the situation shifted from abstract to tangible.

“Obviously with Quenton and Buck, it’s like, okay, hey, now things got real, you know, the moves actually happened,” he explained.

Those departures, he suggested, underscored that Indianapolis is willing to move significant pieces, making the possibility of further deals feel more immediate.

Taylor has tried to block out the noise as he prepares for the Colts’ upcoming game against the Dallas Cowboys, insisting that any final decisions will not become clear until after that contest.

“It won’t be until Tuesday at that time where then you’ll know exactly what’s going on,” he said. “You’ll know exactly what the verdict is.”

He has not publicly requested a trade, instead framing his focus around simply continuing to work. “You just have to continue to go to work,” Taylor added. “And then you just let the chips fall where they may.”

For the Vikings, landing Taylor would represent a significant investment in a proven back who remains under contract for multiple seasons and could provide the kind of reliable production Minnesota has lacked in the backfield.

While the Colts have fielded interest from several teams and continue to weigh offers, the combination of Minnesota’s needs and Taylor’s own desire for resolution has kept the Vikings firmly in the conversation as the deadline draws nearer.

Whether Indianapolis ultimately decides to part with its star runner remains uncertain, but the Vikings’ interest has become one of the more persistent threads in the rumor mill.
