The New York Yankees entered the 2026 offseason with a flurry of administrative activity, announcing 19 roster moves on November 2 that largely involved minor-league affiliates clearing injured lists and finalizing player statuses after the postseason.

Most of the transactions centered on returning players to active rosters across the organization’s farm system.

At Hudson Valley, the Renegades activated catcher Josue Gonzalez, right-hander Ocean Gabonia, and outfielders Tyler Wilson and Wilson Rodriguez from various injured lists.

Gabonia, after his activation from the full-season list, ultimately elected free agency. Higher up, the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders brought back right-hander Luis Garcia, outfielder Garrett Martin, left-hander Will Brian, and right-hander Brian Hendry.

At Double-A Somerset, the Patriots activated third baseman Duncan Pastore, left-hander Brock Selvidge, and right-hander Ben Hess.

The Low-A Tampa Tarpons similarly restored outfielder Richie Bonomolo Jr., first baseman Austin Green, right-hander Mac Heuer, outfielder JoJo Jackson, and right-hander Thatcher Hurd. Separately, left-hander Pedro Rodriguez elected free agency.

One move stood apart from the routine activations.

The Yankees selected the contract of shortstop Marco Luciano from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, adding him to the 40-man roster.

Luciano, who had appeared in spring training earlier in the year, now sits under organizational protection heading into free agency and trade discussions.

These housekeeping decisions arrived in the wake of a competitive but ultimately unfulfilling 2026 campaign.

New York finished 93-68, securing the top American League wild-card spot and posting the second-best record in the league.

The Yankees finished four and a half games behind the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East. In the postseason they swept the Boston Red Sox two games to none in the wild-card round, only to fall in a three-game sweep to the Rays in the Division Series.

With the World Series concluded elsewhere, the organization has shifted fully into winter mode, beginning the process of evaluating which returning and newly protected players fit into the 2027 plans while free agents and potential external additions remain under consideration.

The volume of injured-list clearances suggests a healthy group of depth options ready for spring training evaluations, even as the front office weighs bigger-picture roster construction.
