The Los Angeles Dodgers opened as the clear favorites to win the 2027 World Series, even after the Milwaukee Brewers captured the franchise’s first championship and swept them in the National League Championship Series.

BetOnline listed the Dodgers at +325, an implied probability of roughly 23.5 percent. That price sits ahead of the defending champions, who opened at +500 with about a 16.7 percent chance.

DraftKings was even shorter on Los Angeles at +310, while FanDuel posted +360 and BetMGM opened as low as +250.

The New York Yankees rounded out the consensus top three at +700 to +750 across major books. The Boston Red Sox followed in the +1100 range at DraftKings, with the Seattle Mariners and Philadelphia Phillies both around +1800.

The Tampa Bay Rays, who lost the World Series in five games, opened at +2200 at DraftKings. That number is far shorter than the 80-1 price they carried into the 2026 season. For context, the Brewers entered last year near 20-1 before their historic October run.

The Dodgers finished the regular season at 100-62 and claimed the NL West for the fifth consecutive year and 13 of the last 14 seasons. They have opened as the World Series favorite for the eighth straight year after winning titles in 2020, 2024 and 2025.

Core pieces remain under contract, including Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts and Blake Snell. The club will decide how aggressively to pursue free-agent pitcher Tarik Skubal after injuries limited Ohtani’s pitching in the postseason.

Payroll figures highlight the gap. The Dodgers carried a roughly $339 million payroll in 2026, second in baseball, while Milwaukee ranked near the middle at about $146 million yet still swept Los Angeles in the NLCS and finished the job against the Rays.

Milwaukee should return most of its championship core, including catcher William Contreras and young outfielder Jackson Chourio. Pitcher Jacob Misiorowski is expected to contend for the National League Cy Young Award after leading the league in ERA, strikeouts and WHIP while averaging a record 100.5 mph on his fastball.

A potential rematch for the National League pennant remains a realistic possibility in the eyes of oddsmakers. The Brewers won 11 of 13 postseason games and lost just two games overall en route to the title.

The collective bargaining agreement expires Dec. 2, raising the prospect of a lockout that could delay or shorten the 2027 season. BetOnline has already posted props on the number of regular-season games that will be played, with a full 162-game slate listed at +250.

Further down the board, the Colorado Rockies sit at +50000 at DraftKings, the longest price among all 30 teams. The San Francisco Giants opened near +20000 after failing to meet preseason expectations.

The early market has not treated the Brewers as a one-year wonder, yet it still views the Dodgers’ combination of star power, organizational depth and financial resources as the clearest path back to the Fall Classic.
