The Milwaukee Brewers opened with the second-best odds to win the 2027 World Series after claiming the franchise’s first championship, and oddsmakers have not treated the title as a one-year wonder.

BetOnline listed the Brewers at +500, an implied probability of 16.7 percent, behind only the Los Angeles Dodgers at +325. DraftKings matched that +500 price, while FanDuel opened Milwaukee at +600.

The New York Yankees sat third across the board at roughly +700 to +750.

The Brewers finished the regular season with an MLB-leading 103 wins, then won 11 of 13 postseason games. They swept the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series and closed out the Tampa Bay Rays in five games to end a 44-year wait between World Series appearances.

That postseason run came on a payroll of about $146 million, well below the Dodgers’ roughly $339 million figure. The gap underscored Milwaukee’s ability to contend without matching the league’s highest spenders.

Most of the championship core is expected back. Catcher William Contreras, young outfielder Jackson Chourio and a deep rotation that includes Jacob Misiorowski give the club continuity.

Misiorowski led the National League in ERA, strikeouts and WHIP while averaging a record 100.5 mph on his fastball, putting him in line for Cy Young consideration.

The market’s respect shows in the price movement. The Brewers entered the 2026 season near 20-1 before their October surge. They now sit well ahead of the rest of the field outside the Dodgers and Yankees.

The Rays, who reached the World Series as American League champions, opened at +2200 at DraftKings. That is a sharp improvement from the 80-1 odds they carried into the 2026 campaign. The Boston Red Sox followed in the +1100 range, with the Seattle Mariners and Philadelphia Phillies both around +1800.

A potential rematch with the Dodgers for the National League pennant remains a realistic scenario in the eyes of bookmakers. Los Angeles finished 100-62, won the NL West for the fifth straight year and has opened as the World Series favorite for the eighth consecutive season after titles in 2020, 2024 and 2025.

The collective bargaining agreement expires Dec. 2, creating the possibility of a lockout that could delay or shorten the 2027 season. BetOnline has already posted props on the number of regular-season games that will be played, with a full 162-game schedule listed at +250.

Further down the board, the Colorado Rockies sit at +50000 at DraftKings, the longest price among all 30 teams. The San Francisco Giants opened near +20000 after failing to meet preseason expectations.

Milwaukee’s early odds reflect both the recent title and the organizational continuity that produced it. The Brewers have shown they can navigate a competitive National League, and the market has priced that track record into the second-shortest number on the board.
