The Texas Longhorns fell 27-24 to Florida on Saturday in Austin, dropping to 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the SEC. Arch Manning completed 14 of 20 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown but was sacked and fumbled late with Texas trailing by three, sealing the upset.

A week earlier against Oklahoma, he threw two fourth-quarter interceptions in another 27-24 defeat.

The Longhorns, who opened the season ranked No. 1 after a win over Ohio State, have now lost consecutive games to unranked opponents and seen their offensive production stall.

Asked after the Florida game whether he had considered replacing Manning, Sarkisian did not dismiss the idea.

“We’re not playing good offensive football right now, so everything is going to be evaluated,” Sarkisian said. “When pressed on whether that evaluation included the quarterback position, he replied simply: “Everything means everything.”

The comments mark a shift in tone from earlier in the week.

After the Oklahoma loss, Sarkisian had defended Manning against heightened scrutiny tied to his famous surname, noting that a player with a different name who had beaten multiple top-10 teams would likely be praised.

He has also recently called for Manning to use his mobility more, pointing to stronger running production last season.

Through the first five games of 2026, Manning had completed 63 percent of his passes for more than 1,100 yards with 10 touchdowns and five interceptions; the Florida outing added a costly turnover without an interception.

Texas’ offense has struggled to sustain drives in recent weeks, and the late mistakes have cost the team two games that once looked winnable.

Sarkisian took responsibility for the offensive shortcomings while signaling that the staff will examine all aspects of the unit—including personnel—ahead of upcoming SEC tests against teams such as Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

Whether the evaluation leads to any change at quarterback remains unclear.

Manning has started throughout his tenure as the full-time starter and carries the pedigree of the Manning family, along with the expectations that come with it.

For now, Sarkisian’s message is that nothing is off the table as the Longhorns try to stabilize and keep College Football Playoff hopes alive.
