The Chicago Bulls wrapped up their preseason by waiving four camp invitees, clearing wings Brandon Boston Jr. and Drew Peterson, forward Jalen Bridges, and center Orlando Robinson, the team announced.

Each of the four had prior NBA regular-season experience and appeared in at least three exhibition games for Chicago this month.

Among them, Robinson stood out as the most productive.

Across three outings, he averaged 6.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 11.5 minutes per game, logging the heaviest workload of the group.

The others contributed in more limited roles as the Bulls sorted through their roster ahead of the regular season.

Chicago currently holds only 14 players on guaranteed standard contracts and faces no salary-cap or luxury-tax pressure that would force additional cuts.

In theory, the team could have retained any of the four as a 15th man to open the season.

Instead, according to Chicago Sports Network reporter K.C. Johnson, the organization intends to leave that final roster spot open for the time being in order to preserve flexibility.

Johnson noted that the Bulls’ three two-way contract players all performed well during the preseason, giving the coaching staff confidence in the current depth chart despite a handful of injuries.

With that group providing a ready option for extra minutes or emergency call-ups, front-office decision-makers apparently saw no urgency to fill the 15th standard-contract slot immediately.

The released players may still remain in the organization through its G League affiliate.

The Windy City Bulls acquired the returning rights to Peterson, Bridges, and Robinson in offseason trades and can designate Boston as an affiliate player.

If any of the four spend at least 60 days in the G League this season, they would each become eligible for a $91,000 bonus under the league’s collective bargaining agreement.

For now, the Bulls enter the regular season with an open roster spot and a group of recent camp invitees potentially available for assignment or future recall, depending on how injuries and depth needs develop over the coming weeks.
