The Las Vegas Raiders stand out as the top potential trade destination for Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jauan Jennings, largely because of his prior ties to head coach Klint Kubiak.

Jennings has barely factored into the Vikings’ offense through five games. He has two receptions for nine yards on five targets in four appearances, after missing one contest for personal reasons. The Vikings sit at 5-0, but the veteran has yet to carve out a consistent role behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.

The 29-year-old signed a one-year deal in May worth a base of $8 million that can reach $13 million with incentives. That contract structure makes him relatively easy to move before the Nov. 10 trade deadline, as any acquiring team would take on limited remaining salary.

Jennings produced steadily in San Francisco before free agency. He caught 77 passes for 975 yards and six touchdowns in 2024, then followed with 55 receptions for 643 yards and a career-high nine scores in 2025. Those totals came while working in Kyle Shanahan’s system, which shares principles with the West Coast offense Kubiak runs in Las Vegas.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said earlier this week that Jennings’ trade market is expected to heat up in the coming days and weeks. The Vikings could look to recoup something for him rather than risk losing him for nothing in free agency next spring.

The Raiders enter Week 6 at 3-2 and have been competitive under first-year coach Kubiak, yet their wide receiver group remains one of the league’s thinner units. Tre Tucker leads the room with 19 catches for 274 yards and one touchdown, while Jalen Nailor and others have seen limited production. Tight ends Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer have handled the bulk of the target volume.

That shortage of reliable outside options creates a clear opening. Kubiak’s scheme emphasizes physicality and precise route-running, traits Jennings displayed during his time in San Francisco.

The connection dates to 2023, when Kubiak served as the 49ers’ passing game coordinator. Jennings recorded 19 receptions for 265 yards that season in a reduced role behind other weapons.

Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport identified the Raiders as the ideal landing spot.

“The Raiders have been surprisingly competitive this season, but the team has one of the weakest assemblages of wide receiver talent in the NFL,” Davenport wrote. “At some point, Fernando Mendoza is going to start at quarterback, and when he does it would be nice to have a reliable target not named Brock Bowers. More importantly, the Raiders are coached by Klint Kubiak, who runs a variation of Shanahan’s West Coast offense. The team is a far better scheme fit for what Jennings does well, and he could be acquired for a mid-to-late Day 3 pick.”

A deal in that range — likely a conditional fifth- or sixth-round selection — would represent low risk for Las Vegas. The Raiders passed on signing Jennings in free agency despite the scheme familiarity, but his current production and short-term contract have lowered the barrier.

San Francisco has also surfaced as a possible suitor given injuries in its receiver room, though a reunion with a division rival could face more hurdles. For the Vikings, any return of a late-round pick would improve on simply cutting the player later if no agreement materializes.

Mendoza, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 draft, has seen limited action behind Kirk Cousins so far. Adding a proven veteran who understands the system could accelerate his development once the rookie takes over more snaps.

Both teams face decisions in the next three weeks. The Raiders need more consistent targets to support a playoff push, while the Vikings must decide whether Jennings still fits their long-term plans.
