The New York Jets will enter their Week 6 matchup against the New England Patriots without several key contributors, including star running back Breece Hall.
Head coach Aaron Glenn confirmed the absences during a Friday update, listing Hall alongside wide receiver Adonai Mitchell, left guard Dylan Parham, and edge rusher Joseph Ossai as unavailable for the game.
The ruling leaves New York short three offensive starters and a rotational defensive piece as the team looks to navigate the division contest.
Hall’s absence marks a third consecutive game on the sideline. He suffered a quadriceps injury during the Jets’ Week 3 loss to the Detroit Lions and has remained limited since, with no practice participation this week.
Through his three early appearances, the 25-year-old had carried the ball 51 times for 163 yards and a touchdown while adding 10 receptions for 102 yards, offering both rushing production and a reliable outlet for the passing game.
In his place, Braelon Allen has assumed the lead role in the backfield and produced solid results, most notably in the Jets’ recent win over the Cleveland Browns.
Glenn indicated that the coming week could prove important for Hall’s recovery, though no firm return timeline was offered beyond the immediate game.
Mitchell will miss a fourth straight contest while dealing with a finger injury that required a surgical procedure.
Glenn explained that the team initially viewed the issue as a week-to-week problem and therefore held off on placing the receiver on injured reserve, a decision that has kept a roster spot occupied longer than expected.
On the offensive line, Parham continues to recover from a knee injury also sustained against Detroit; he has been sidelined for multiple games, with Jordan Meredith stepping into the starting left guard role.
Defensively, Ossai is dealing with an ankle issue that surfaced in the Browns game. The former free-agent addition, signed to a three-year deal worth $34.5 million, has yet to record a sack or quarterback hit this season and has posted modest grades according to Pro Football Focus.
The cluster of absences arrives as the Jets try to maintain momentum following their Week 5 victory.
With Hall, Mitchell, and Parham unavailable on offense, the unit will lean more heavily on Allen and the remaining skill-position options against a Patriots defense that presents its own challenges in the AFC East.
Glenn expressed hope that the week ahead would help the sidelined players progress toward a return, but for Sunday the Jets will move forward without them.
The matchup offers New England an opportunity to face a thinned-out Jets roster, while New York must find production from depth pieces if it hopes to keep pace in the division race.
