Green Bay Packers superstar Micah Parsons is not shy about discussing his former Dallas Cowboys squad, and his latest comments about George Pickens land with particular force.
After a breakout 2025 campaign that left Pickens among the NFL’s most productive receivers, the former Cowboys pass rusher believes the wideout is positioned to go even further this season.
Pickens finished last year third in the league with 1,493 receiving yards while ranking eighth in both receptions (93) and touchdown catches (9).
Those numbers arrived after Dallas declined to hand him a long-term extension, instead paying him $27.29 million on a one-year deal that asked him to prove the production was no one-year spike. A repeat or improvement could put him in the conversation with the highest-paid receivers in the game.
Speaking on his podcast “The Edge,” Parsons went well beyond expecting another strong year. He argued Pickens already looked like the best receiver in the league last season and now has the chance to separate himself even more.
“(George) Pickens looked like the best receiver in the NFL last season,” Parsons said. “He said he’s going to show he’s the best receiver in the league. I think Pickens will lead the league in touchdown receptions too. He might triple crown it.”
Parsons did not stop at the triple-crown possibility of leading the NFL in receptions, yards, and touchdowns. He projected specific numbers that would represent a significant jump.
“I got him for at least 15, 16 (touchdowns); I think he’s the greatest red-zone threat in the league,” Parsons said. “GP could go at least 1,800 yards — 18 (touchdowns) and 18(00 yards). I think he’s very capable — it’s just about if GP wants to do it. When it’s primetime, there’s no doubt GP is showing up.”
The former Penn State standout also pointed to the fear Pickens instills in opponents, noting how often Georgia players on various rosters talk about his presence.
That reputation for physicality and competitiveness, paired with Dak Prescott throwing to both Pickens and CeeDee Lamb, gives Dallas one of the more dangerous passing attacks in the conference. Pickens has already shown he can produce at a high level, topping 900 yards in two of the three seasons before 2025 and exceeding 1,100 yards twice.
The question now is whether the 25-year-old can sustain that output while converting more of his red-zone opportunities into scores. Parsons clearly believes the answer is yes, provided Pickens remains as motivated as he appeared last year.
Whether those predictions materialize will be measured over the coming months. For now, they add another layer of expectation to a Cowboys offense that already carries Super Bowl talk from voices inside and outside the organization.
Parsons’ comments simply raise the bar higher for a receiver who spent last season proving he belongs among the league’s elite.
