The Atlanta Braves made a roster adjustment in their minor league system Tuesday as they prepared to open a series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Truist Park.
The club had an off day Monday after wrapping up a weekend series with a 4-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday.
Rome Emperors, the Braves’ High-A affiliate, announced the moves involving several players. Right-hander Davis Polo received a promotion from Single-A Augusta to Rome.
The official statement from the Rome Emperors read: “The Atlanta #Braves today placed RHP Ethan Bagwell on the 7-Day Injured List and transferred OF Dallas Macias from Rome to Augusta. Additionally, RHP Davis Polo has been promoted from Augusta to Rome.”
Polo, a 21-year-old from Cali, Colombia, has shown steady progress this season after missing all of 2025 with an undisclosed injury.
Standing 6-foot-1 and listed at 150 pounds, the right-hander throws a fastball, slider and changeup. In 2026 with the Augusta GreenJackets, he posted a 7-5 record with an ERA in the low 3.00s over roughly 20 appearances, most of them starts. He struck out more than 100 batters while limiting walks and keeping his WHIP near 1.10.
Polo originally signed with the Braves as an international free agent in April 2022. He began his professional career that summer in the Dominican Summer League, then moved to the Florida Complex League the following year.
His first full season at Single-A Augusta came in 2024, when results were mixed before the injury sidelined him the next year. This season marked a clear step forward, with improved command and the ability to generate swings and misses. The promotion places Polo one level closer to the majors and gives him a chance to face more advanced competition in the South Atlantic League.
Bagwell’s placement on the injured list creates an opening in the Rome rotation that Polo is expected to fill. Macias, an outfielder, heads the other direction to continue his development with Augusta.
The Braves’ major league club enters the Dodgers series looking to build on recent success at home. Manager Walt Weiss and the coaching staff will focus on the big league roster while the farm system continues to evaluate young talent like Polo.
