The New York Jets enter their Week 5 matchup against the Cleveland Browns at a rain-soaked MetLife Stadium still searching for answers on a three-game losing streak.

Injuries have piled up across the roster, but the defensive edge room received a welcome boost when the official inactive list confirmed that both Will McDonald IV and Kingsley Enagbare will be available Sunday.

McDonald, the former first-round selection out of Iowa State, appeared on the injury report late in the week with a calf issue.

He was limited during Friday’s practice and carried a questionable designation into the weekend, raising concerns about his availability.

Through the first four games, he has recorded one sack and generated consistent pressure, ranking among the more productive members of the Jets’ pass rush.

His ability to suit up preserves a key rotational piece for a unit that has struggled to generate consistent disruption.

Enagbare’s path back was more gradual. The edge rusher, who signed with New York after spending his first four seasons with the Green Bay Packers, dealt with a knee injury that kept him out of last week’s loss to the Chicago Bears.

He progressed from limited work early in the week to a full participation on Friday and, like McDonald, was listed as questionable.

His presence restores additional depth and experience on the edge; through three appearances this season he has already recorded two sacks and forced a fumble.

Their dual activation is significant because the Jets’ inactive list otherwise includes several notable absences.

Running back Breece Hall (quadriceps), wide receiver Adonai Mitchell (finger), left guard Dylan Parham (knee), and linebacker Kiko Mauigoa (quadriceps) are all sidelined for at least a second consecutive game, while edge rusher Nate Lynn and cornerback Nahshon Wright are healthy scratches.

The return of McDonald and Enagbare therefore helps offset some of the attrition on the defensive front, particularly in a game expected to feature wet conditions that can favor physical, disruptive pass rushers.

For a Jets team looking to snap its skid, having both players available offers schematic flexibility and reduces the burden on the remaining edge defenders.

Whether McDonald’s calf holds up through the full contest and how effectively Enagbare contributes after missing a week will be closely watched as New York tries to generate more consistent pressure against the Browns.
