Insider Updates Where Cowboys Stand on Micah Parsons Trade

Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons is unquestionably one of the best defensive players in football, but there is also little doubt that his act has worn thin on many.

Heck, there were some who believed after last year that the Cowboys may be better off trading Parsons rather than paying him, and today, the superstar still has his fair share of detractors who have grown tired of his rampant social media presence.

There was even some chatter after 2023 that some within Dallas’ organization were not exactly enamored with Parsons thanks to some of his behavior.

Of course, that wasn’t actually verified, but the fact of the matter is that the Cowboys still haven’t paid Parsons, who became eligible for a contract extension last offseason.

So, will Dallas move the 25-year-old?

Tom Pelissero of NFL media recently made an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, and he doesn’t seem to think there is much of a chance that the Cowboys will be trading Parsons this offseason. At the very least, he hasn’t heard anything that would suggest otherwise.

“If you were going to trade Micah and free up all this cash and cap, you’d like to think you did that a week ago,” Pelissero said.

That’s very true. Don’t you think Dallas would have preferred to move Parsons before free agency began so it could, you know, actually sign some players?

Parsons may grate on the nerves of some (like ex-Cowboy DeMarcus Lawrence), but the Cowboys do not seem intent on jettisoning him anytime soon.

The Penn State product racked up 43 tackles and 12 sacks this past year and has totaled 52.5 sacks over his first four NFL seasons. Barring a drastic turn of events, Parsons isn’t going anywhere. Not now, anyway
