Philadelphia Eagles Could Steal Yet Another Giants Star

The Philadelphia Eagles famously stole running back Saquon Barkley away from the New York Giants last offseason, and the Eagles went on to win a Super Bowl with Barkley spearheading the offense.

Could Philadelphia poach yet another big-time player from its fierce NFC East rivals?

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox thinks so, naming the Eagles as one of the top potential suitors for Giants edge rusher Azeez Ojulari, who remains a free agent.

“The Eagles, who were largely quiet on Monday, could also consider Ojulari as a replacement for pass-rusher Josh Sweat, who is headed to Arizona,” Knox wrote.

Philly lost a couple of its top pass rushers to free agency this week, as Milton Williams also departed for the New England Patriots.

Ojulari almost certainly isn’t returning to New York, as the Giants actually boast one of the league’s best pass-rushing tandems in Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux, and they just added former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Chauncey Golston.

The 24-year-old played in 11 games this past season, registering 28 tackles and six sacks. He entered the NFL as a second-round pick in 2021 and racked up 49 tackles and eight sacks during his debut campaign, but has struggled to stay healthy ever since.

When he is right, Ojulari has proven to be a very impressive pass rusher who could potentially break out in the right system…and if he stays on the field.

With the Eagles now needing an edge rusher following the departure of Sweat, Ojulari would definitely represent an interesting potential addition for the defending champions. Philadelphia also has enough cap space to make it happen, especially with Ojulari being one of the last edge rushers without a deal.
