The Pittsburgh Pirates have been hanging around in the National League playoff picture in recent weeks. Their dominant starting rotation is keeping them in the mix, but Bryan Reynolds is doing everything he can to get the offense going to put them over the edge.

In recent weeks, Bryan Reynolds has been his production spike. The Pittsburgh Pirates offense has been struggling, but he has been doing everything in his power to keep them afloat single-handily.

Thus far in June, Reynolds has recorded a .358 batting average with 11 extra-base hits and nine RBI. If guys could get on base ahead of him consistently, this offense would start humming. These aren’t cheap hits either, as he has an exit velocity average of 92.4 MPH.

This level of production in June isn’t anything new for Bryan Reynolds. Throughout his career, as the weather heats up, so does his bat. As shared during the telecast against the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday evening, there isn’t a better hitter in June than the Pittsburgh Pirates slugger.

Since 1946, the highest career batting average in June is owned by Bryan Reynolds, who is hitting .347. They noted that is higher than the career batting average of Jackie Robinson, who was .346.

The recent hot streak has bumped Bryan Reynold’s season-long numbers up considerably. Entering June, he had a slash line of .249/.320/.402. His numbers now sit at .274/.338/.446, as he has been a one-man wrecking crew for the Buccos.

He has recorded a hit in every game he has played in June, currently riding a 16-game hitting streak. If anyone else in the Pittsburgh Pirates lineup can get hot, the team can start stringing together wins and cement their standing as a playoff contender in the National League.
