MLB Legend Doesn’t Hold Back On Angels’ Mike Trout

MLB icons Albert Pujols and Mike Trout shared a decade-long journey as teammates with the Los Angeles Angels, spanning from 2012 to 2021.

When Pujols joined the Angels, he was entering a phase of decline, while Trout, on the contrary, was emerging as one of the game’s premier stars.

Despite their diverging career paths, their bond grew strong as they worked alongside each other, fostering a deep mutual respect and friendship.

Now retired, Pujols has the opportunity to witness Trout’s brilliance from a different perspective. Regarded as one of the greatest right-handed hitters in baseball history, Pujols admires Trout’s ongoing greatness.

“I’m not surprised at all…I’m glad to see him back at the top where he belongs.”

Trout, although challenged by injuries in recent seasons, is currently showcasing his unparalleled talent. Despite a subpar performance last year with a .858 OPS (remarkably, his worst to date), he’s now in peak condition, demonstrating his dominance on the field.

Pujols isn’t surprised by Trout’s resurgence, having observed firsthand the extent of his former teammate’s abilities.

Trout’s current stats speak volumes: he boasts an impressive slash line of .282/.363/.690, accompanied by eight home runs, 11 RBI, and a remarkable 1.053 OPS.

Despite Trout’s stellar performance, the Angels have struggled to provide him with ample opportunities, evident in his relatively low RBI count despite his impressive home run tally.

One thing is certain: Mike Trout’s return to top form spells trouble for his MLB competitors vying for the American League MVP title.
