Cowboys’ Jerry Jones Reveals Thoughts On Losing Dan Quinn

Jerry Jones didn’t express surprise upon hearing about Dan Quinn’s departure from the Dallas Cowboys to join the division rival Washington Commanders.

In his conversation with ESPN’s Todd Archer regarding the loss of the former Defensive Coordinator to the rival Commanders, Jones maintained a positive outlook.

“It doesn’t surprise me. The fact that he’s got head coaching credentials, been to a Super Bowl and the fact that he enjoys some of the skill set he’s got.”

Despite struggles in the postseason, Quinn played a pivotal role in the transformation of the Dallas Cowboys’ defense. Since taking over for Mike Nolan in 2021, the Cowboys’ defensive unit had become one of the most formidable in the National Football League.

Quinn’s influence was evident in the Cowboys’ defensive success, and his players clearly enjoyed playing under his guidance.

Now, he will carry his expertise to the NFC East and embark on the mission of rejuvenating the Washington franchise, which hasn’t seen significant success since Joe Gibbs’ era in the early 1990s.

This also makes the NFC East much more interesting to watch. Quinn is a great coach and should work wonders for the Commanders. If they can put together a strong offseason, Washington could be a team to watch.

For the Cowboys, they simply hope to take the next step in 2024. Jerry Jones and company will be forced to make much bigger changes if they have another flop like they did in the playoffs this season.
