One NBA writer is proposing that the Los Angeles Lakers acquire Draymond Green from the Golden State Warriors in the wake of Green getting suspended indefinitely after striking Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the head.
Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Lakers and Warriors:
The Deal: Draymond Green for Rui Hachimura and Jaxson Hayes
Green is very close friends with Lakers superstar LeBron James. LeBron, Green and Anthony Davis have the same agent (Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group) and Bailey thinks the Lakers could benefit from adding Green.
“Even with D’Angelo Russell at the point, a lineup with LeBron, Green, AD and Cam Reddish would stifle opposing offenses with switchability around one of the league’s best rim-protectors,” Bailey wrote in his NBA trade proposal. “And on the other end, a dynamic, playmaking-heavy offense would get another wrinkle in the form of Green’s creation. Having him on the floor with LeBron and Austin Reaves would have defenses constantly guessing where the attack is coming from.”

Green is averaging 9.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 0.4 steals and 0.7 blocks this season while shooting 49.0% from the field, 42.9% from beyond the arc and 83.3% from the free-throw line. The four-time NBA champion is making $22.3 million.
The Lakers could start D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, Green, LeBron and Davis if Los Angeles’ front office figured out a way to acquire Green from Golden State. Some people around the NBA believe LeBron would be able to get the best out of Green and keep the Michigan State product in check due to his strong leadership skills.
