The San Antonio Spurs could trade Keldon Johnson before the trade deadline in February, according to NBA insider Marc J. Spears of Andscape.

Johnson has appeared in 22 games for the Spurs this season. He’s averaging 17.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists while shooting 47.8% from the field, 37.1% from beyond the arc and 77.5% from the free-throw line.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Keldon Johnson, San Antonio Spurs Updates

The Spurs signed Johnson to a four-year, $74 million rookie scale extension in July 2022. Johnson is making $20 million this season.

San Antonio has the worst record in the Western Conference at 3-20. The team hasn’t won a game since November 2. After losing to the Los Angeles Lakers last night, the Spurs’ losing streak is now at 18 games.

“We were sloppy and tried to do things quickly,” Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said after the Lakers game. “We did nothing the basketball gods would be happy about (in the first half). In the second half, they competed and executed to win. I’m glad about that. I want to see how it carries over to Friday.”

Johnson was the 29th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Kentucky. He has career averages of 16.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 46.9% from the floor, 36.4% from 3 and 75.3% from the foul line.
