Back in Week 11, Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews suffered a severe ankle injury that knocked him out for the remainder of the regular season. The Ravens had some hope that he could return for the playoffs, but they weren’t incredibly optimistic.

Well, apparently, Andrews is making remarkable progress.

Per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Andrews was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice, increasing the likelihood that the star pass-catcher will be back on the field when Baltimore hosts the Houston Texans in its Divisional Round playoff matchup this Saturday.

The Ravens designated Andrews to return from the injured reserve list late last week, but at the time, it didn’t seem like a definitive indication that he would be able to play against the Texans. However, now, Baltimore fans have a right to feel very hopeful.

In the 10 games he played this season, Andrews caught 45 passes for 544 yards and six touchdowns.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Oklahoma, was selected by the Ravens in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

He entered the league the same year as Lamar Jackson, who took over as Baltimore’s starting quarterback during his rookie campaign. Andrews instantly became Jackson’s favorite target and has remained his No. 1 guy in the aerial attack ever since.

Andrews has made three trips to the Pro Bowl, with his best season coming in 2021 when he hauled in 107 receptions for 1,361 yards and nine touchdowns. He also earned a First-Team All-Pro selection that year.

Last year, Mark Andrews snared 73 balls for 847 yards and five scores.

The Ravens went 13-4 this season, finishing with the best record in football. As a result, they locked down a first-round bye in the playoffs.
