Greg McElroy is among the media pundits who enthusiastically support the hiring of Kalen DeBoer by Alabama.

DeBoer, who has been coaching at Washington for the past two seasons, is poised to become Alabama’s next head coach following Nick Saban’s retirement on Wednesday.

Upon hearing the news, McElroy couldn’t contain his excitement, and that excitement still lingers.

“I think this is a terrific hire for the Alabama Crimson Tide.”

McElroy went on to express how he felt like a part of the team during his 36-hour visit with Washington as they prepared for Monday’s national title game.

During his visit, he had the opportunity to observe their practices and engage in conversations with DeBoer.

DeBoer brings with him a winning culture, something that Alabama fans are accustomed to. After all, they had the privilege of witnessing Saban lead the team to six national titles before his retirement.

It’s not far-fetched to imagine that this could be the perfect match for Alabama and Kalen DeBoer, a partnership that may soon feel like a match made in heaven.
