Dabo Swinney’s Chances To Land Alabama Job, Revealed

A few years back, Dabo Swinney was widely regarded as the ideal successor to Nick Saban at Alabama. However, that perception has significantly shifted.

Recently, former Alabama quarterback, Greg McElroy, shared his perspective on potential candidates for the head coaching position.

McElroy left no room for ambiguity, asserting that he sees Swinney as having a “zero-percent chance” of taking over from Saban.

It’s essential to clarify that McElroy’s assessment isn’t overly critical but rather grounded in realism. In the last 24 hours, various insiders have floated names as potential candidates for the Alabama coaching role, and Swinney’s name seems conspicuously absent from these discussions.

In a notable revelation, Joel Klatt of Fox Sports goes as far as to suggest that Swinney isn’t even among the top three considerations for the Crimson Tide.

As things stand, unless there is a significant and unforeseen shift in circumstances in the coming days, Dabo Swinney is poised to continue his role as the head coach of Clemson’s football program, rather than taking on the leadership of Alabama’s football team.
