As the Miami Dolphins get ready for the 2024 season, what is their biggest weakness as of now?

It was a solid 2023 season for the Miami Dolphins. Miami established itself as one of the best offensive teams in the league, as with both their passing attack and running game, they were not only balanced but explosive.

Unfortunately for the Dolphins, they got stuck going on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs in one of the coldest games on record. As expected as a team from Florida, the Dolphins did not fare well in the cold weather of Kansas City. One silver lining for the Dolphins is that they did lose to the eventual world champions.

With Miami still having their explosive offensive core intact, they should once again be a playoff team in the AFC. However, that doesn’t mean that they are perfect. Recently, ESPN spoke about depth at the wide receiver position being the biggest weakness for the Miami Dolphins. Here’s what they had to say.

Roster hole: Wide receiver depth

This is a very strong roster with qualified starters at every position and a good mix of backups who either have experience or are young, ascending players. The biggest issue might be the depth behind the two primary pass-catchers. It was the biggest issue before the Dolphins signed Odell Beckham Jr . It’s less of an issue now, but there would still be a big problem if Miami lost Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

Getting Odell Beckham Jr. recently helped the depth situation for Miami, but this wide receiver corps has missed some time because of injuries. If injuries do occur to the wide receivers of Miami, they could be in a bit of trouble.

After their Big 3, Braxton Berrios would be next up on the depth chart. Berrios is more of a special teams player at this stage of his career and would be asked to step up in a big way.

While there is still time to add some more depth to the wide receiver corps, the Miami Dolphins might be willing to roll the dice and hope the talented group can stay healthy.
