Count running back Josh Jacobs among the ever-growing group of Las Vegas Raiders players who want Antonio Pierce to return as head coach next season.

While speaking about his future following the Raiders’ season-ending win over the Denver Broncos, Jacobs, who will be a free agent this spring, initially said he wasn’t sure what will happen.

“At the end of the day, I love this group of guys that we got here,” Jacobs said, via Vegas Sports Today. “I love the city and what we’re building. I’ll let the chips fall however they may be but it’s definitely been a blessing and an honor.”

When asked if he would like to return to Las Vegas, Jacobs said “one hundred percent” and then added this little nugget to go along with his statement.

“However it play oust, it plays out, but one hundred percent, especially with [Pierce] as the head coach,” said Jacobs.

Numerous other Raiders players have also placed their stamp of approval on Pierce, including wide receiver DaVante Adams and edge rusher Maxx Crosby.

Clearly, Pierce has created a locker room culture that the players thoroughly enjoy, so you can bet that owner Mark Davis will take that into account when he decides who the head coach for 2024 will be this offsesaon.

Pierce took over as coach on an interim role after Las Vegas fired Josh McDaniels at the end of October. Under Pierce, the Raiders went 5-4 and boasted the No. 1 scoring defense in the NFL. Most notably, they scored 63 points in a 42-point drubbing of the Los Angeles Chargers and also defeated the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on Christmas.

Davis recently said he still has to go through the process based on league rules, but he did say he thought Pierce did a great job this season.

We’ll see if both Josh Jacobs and Antonio Pierce are back in Vegas next year.
