Eagles Expected To Make Yet Another Massive Offseason Change

Following a tumultuous conclusion to their season, the Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly gearing up for significant changes within their coaching staff.

It appears that Offensive coordinator Brian Johnson is unlikely to return for the 2024 season, as reported by Eagles correspondent Derrick Gunn. If this report holds true, Johnson’s tenure in this role will have lasted just a single season.

Clearly, the Eagles have recognized the need for sweeping alterations, though head coach Nick Sirianni’s position remains secure.

This decision comes after a promising start with a 10-1 record, only to endure a dramatic decline, losing six out of seven games to close the season, culminating in a wild-card loss to Tampa Bay. The offensive unit played a pivotal role in this unfortunate slump, failing to score over 20 points in five of those six losses.

This development represents the most recent step in what seems to be a complete overhaul of the coaching staff in Philadelphia.

For the second consecutive year, the team will usher in two new coordinators for the 2024 season. However, this time, the change stems from the challenge of replacing Shane Steichen and Jonathan Gannon, both of whom assumed head coaching positions elsewhere after the previous year.

While Johnson garnered interest as a potential head coach during this hiring cycle, it appears that he may need to seek another opportunity as an offensive coordinator with a different team.
