Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh provided significant injury updates on tight end Mark Andrews and cornerback Marlon Humphrey heading into the AFC Championship Game.
Both Andrews and Humphrey were absent in the Ravens’ Divisional Round playoff win over the Houston Texans this past weekend. Andrews has been sidelined since Week 12 after suffering an ankle injury in November, and Humphrey sustained a calf injury that has kept him out since Week 18.
Harbaugh seemed optimistic on Humphrey.
“I promise you, if Marlon can go he will. If he can practice, he will,” Harbaugh said, via Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk. “I think you’ll see it, as the week goes on, based on how much he practices, you’ll probably get a pretty good feel for it. I’m pretty sure if he can be out there, he’ll for sure be out there. So, I’m very hopeful. We’ll have to see what happens.”
Harbaugh was a bit more diplomatic on Andrews’ status.
“We’ll just see how he goes,” Harbaugh said. “If he’s ready to play, he’ll play.”
Andrews was designated to return from the injured reserve list earlier this month and was a full participant in practice last week. However, he was unable to play against the Texans.
The Ravens have yet to activate him.
Should Baltimore get both Andrews and Humphrey back, it will obviously increase the club’s chances of beating the Kansas City Chiefs to advance to the Super Bowl.
The Ravens last made it to the Super Bowl in February 2013, where they beat the San Francisco 49ers.
