Bills’ Stefon Diggs Doesn’t Hold Back On His Declining Stats

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs has been drawing a whole lot of attention on the field in recent weeks, resulting in some rather shoddy numbers for the star pass-catcher.

During last weekend’s win over the Kansas City Chiefs, Diggs logged just four catches for 24 yards in spite of being targeted 11 times. He was being double teamed throughout the afternoon, and this week, he spoke about the difficulties he has been facing.

“It’s rough, man,” Diggs said, via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. “Even earlier in the year, I saw a lot of the double, but they’ve been doing a great job, especially when you put those first seven to eight games on tape of what you like to do and what you do. They’ve been doing a good job. For me, personally, I’ve been trying, bro. I promise you I’ve been trying. It’s not because of me. Teams are doing a good job, we’ve got to continue to make plays and spread the ball around.”

Diggs has not posted a 100-yard outing since Oct. 15. That marked the last of four straight games in which he registered triple digits in receiving yards, and he did it five times over his first six contests this year. Over his last four games, however, Diggs has finished with under 40 yards receiving three times. He topped out at 74 yards in a Week 12 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

“I’m going to be honest, it’s frustrating,” Diggs said. “A lot of things have to go right for me to get the ball. It’s damn sure frustrating, I’m not going to lie. I get furious out there, like, want to say the F-word, but you know what I mean.”

On the season overall, Stefon Diggs has totaled 87 catches for 993 yards and eight touchdowns.

The 30-year-old is now in his fourth season with the Bills. He made the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons in Buffalo.

The Bills are 7-6 and will take on the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
