Buffalo Bills linebacker Leonard Floyd was a surprising addition to the team’s injury report on Tuesday due to wrist and rib issues, according to Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk.

Floyd was limited in the Bills’ walkthrough practice session.

The pass rusher has played in all 14 games this season, racking up 27 tackles, 10.5 sacks and a forced fumble. He is a half sack away from achieving his career high.

Floyd is in his first season in Buffalo after signing with the club last June.

The 31-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Georgia, was originally selected by the Chicago Bears with the ninth overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He appeared in 12 contests during his rookie campaign and was impressive, registering 33 tackles, seven sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a defensive touchdown.

However, after his debut season, Floyd was a disappointment over the remainder of his tenure with the Bears. He amassed a grand total of 10.5 sacks over the next three seasons, and as a result, Chicago did not exercise the fifth-year option on his rookie deal.

Floyd then made his way to the Los Angeles Rams, where he finally broke out.

In his first season with the Rams in 2020, Floyd participated in every game and rattled off 55 tackles, 10.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a couple of fumble recoveries. He then posted similar numbers the following year, finishing with 70 stops, 9.5 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery, helping lead Los Angeles to a Super Bowl title.

During his final campaign with the Rams last year, Floyd recorded 59 tackles, nine sacks and a fumble recovery.

Leonard Floyd has not missed a game since 2017.

The Bills are 8-6 and are very much alive in the AFC playoff picture. They will head on the road to battle the Los Angeles Chargers this Saturday.
