The Buffalo Bills will be without the services of two key starters in their upcoming wild-card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday.
According to head coach Sean McDermott, wide receiver Gabe Davis and safety Taylor Rapp will both be sidelined for the game. Davis is dealing with a knee injury, while Rapp has a calf injury.
The absence of Davis and Rapp is a significant blow to the Bills, as both players play crucial roles on both offense and defense. In their previous matchup against the Steelers last season, Davis had an impressive performance, amassing 171 receiving yards and scoring two touchdowns.
Throughout the regular season, Davis showcased his skills with 45 receptions for 746 yards and an impressive seven touchdowns.
Taylor Rapp, on the other hand, is a key component of the Bills’ defense. He excels at stopping both the run and the pass, making him a valuable asset. Over the course of 16 games this season, Rapp recorded an impressive stat line, including 50 total tackles, a fumble recovery, an interception, and two passes defended.
While Davis and Rapp will be sidelined, there is still some hope for cornerback Rasul Douglas and linebacker Tyrel Dodson. Although Douglas won’t be able to practice on Friday, he hasn’t been officially ruled out. Dodson, while limited, is also not ruled out at this time.
The kickoff for the game is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on CBS, and despite the absence of these key players, the Buffalo Bills will look to overcome these challenges in their quest for victory against the Steelers.
