Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is one of the leading candidates for the NFL MVP award this season, and head coach John Harbaugh raved about him following the club’s Week 15 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

“I believe he’s the best QB in the National Football League and he continues to prove me right,” Harbaugh said, via the Ravens’ official YouTube account.

Jackson went 14-for-24 with 171 yards, a touchdown and an interception while carrying the ball 12 times for 97 yards in the Ravens’ 23-7 win this past Sunday.

“Lamar has been a great leader in his own way all the way through,” Harbaugh said. “I think we all grow and evolve. Circumstances change, and we find ourselves in a different place. I’ve always admired Lamar for every part of what he’s doing. … He’ an A-plus leader right now. He’s been glue for the guys, and it’s been great to see.”

Baltimore currently owns the AFC’s best record at 11-3, and if the season ended today, Jackson and Co. would have a first-round bye.

On the season overall, Jackson has thrown for 3,105 yards, 17 touchdowns and seven picks while completing 66.3 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 96.5. In addition, he has rushed for 741 yards and five scores, averaging 5.5 yards per carry.

Jackson, who played his collegiate football at the University of Louisville, was selected by the Ravens with the 32nd overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. He supplanted Joe Flacco as the started midway through his rookie campaign and has been under center ever since.

The 26-year-old already has one MVP award under his belt, having taken home the honor in 2019 after leading the league with 36 touchdown passes and guiding the Ravens to a 14-2 record.

Lamar Jackson has also made a couple of trips to the Pro Bowl while earning a First-Team All-Pro selection.

The Ravens will take on the San Francisco 49ers on Christmas Day before facing the Miami Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers to close out the regular season.
