Jared Curtis, a highly touted five-star quarterback and the top-ranked signal-caller in the 2026 recruiting class, has been pledged to the Georgia Bulldogs since May.
According to 247Sports, Kirby Smart’s program boasts the nation’s second-best recruiting class for that cycle, with Curtis, a Nashville, Tennessee native, as its centerpiece.
Ranked as the No. 4 overall prospect nationally, Curtis initially committed to Georgia in March 2024 but briefly de-committed in October 2024 before reaffirming his commitment in May. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound quarterback has since been a vocal advocate for the Bulldogs in recruiting efforts.
With Georgia (6-1) idle this week ahead of their matchup against Florida in Jacksonville, Curtis is taking a short trip to Vanderbilt this Saturday. Rivals reports that Curtis will attend the Week 9 clash between the No. 15 Missouri Tigers and the No. 10 Vanderbilt Commodores, a game featuring ESPN’s “College GameDay.”
This marks Curtis’s second visit to Vanderbilt this week, having been on campus Wednesday with his Nashville Christian head coach, per Rivals.
There are no current indications, such as recruiting predictions, suggesting that Georgia is in danger of losing Curtis’s commitment. Per MaxPreps, Curtis has recorded 1,005 passing yards, 14 touchdowns, and three interceptions this season, while also contributing four rushing touchdowns.
While this could simply be a visit to a high-profile college football game, it might also signal the start of a significant recruiting push by Vanderbilt. The Commodores, who are 6-1 for the first time since 1950, face the departure of their Heisman candidate quarterback, Diego Pavia, after this season.
Hopefully, Georgia is able to retain Curtis and keep his commitment. Losing him to another SEC team would be a massive blow for the Bulldogs.
