Following another disappointing playoff exit, the Dallas Cowboys are determined to make a Super Bowl run in the upcoming 2024-25 NFL season.

Team owner Jerry Jones has reaffirmed his commitment to head coach Mike McCarthy and is sparing no effort for the next season. As such, the impending offseason is poised to play a pivotal role in determining their future success.

As they look ahead to the offseason, the Cowboys face several critical decisions, one of which centers around the fate of running back Tony Pollard. Pollard is set to become a free agent this offseason, leaving the Cowboys with the dilemma of whether to retain him or explore other options in the market, either for a better or more cost-effective replacement.

Should the Cowboys choose to part ways with Pollard, there is no shortage of potential suitors eager to acquire his services.

CBS Sports has predicted that Pollard will depart from the Cowboys and land with another NFC contender, namely the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Tampa Bay emerges as a logical destination for Pollard due to their need for an improved running game. Pollard ranks among the top running backs available in free agency, and his youthfulness bodes well for a potential long-term partnership with the Buccaneers.

In the 2023 season with the Dallas Cowboys, Pollard showcased his abilities by carrying the ball 252 times, accumulating 1,005 rushing yards, and scoring six touchdowns. He also proved to be a valuable asset in the passing game, catching 55 passes for 311 yards.

These impressive statistics make Pollard an enticing addition to the Buccaneers’ backfield. Should Tampa Bay decide to be aggressive in free agency to bolster their offense, Pollard could seamlessly slot into their plans.

As for the Cowboys, parting ways with Pollard would open up the opportunity to secure a new running back. They could explore options such as signing an upgrade like Derrick Henry or turning their attention to the 2024 NFL Draft to find their next backfield star.
