Golden State Warriors Connected to Shocking Myles Turner Trade

The Golden State Warriors, still searching for reliable frontcourt help as Kristaps Porzingis’s availability remains uncertain, have seen Milwaukee Bucks center Myles Turner surface as a possible trade target.

The idea centers on Golden State packaging salary—most plausibly Moses Moody rather than Draymond Green—to land a more expensive big man who could provide floor spacing and rim protection next to the team’s existing pieces.

On paper, the fit makes sense for a Warriors roster that has long valued stretch centers, yet the notion lands with a jolt given how little Turner has produced in his early work with Milwaukee.

Sean Deveney of Heavy.com listed Turner among the more expensive players the Warriors could pursue by combining contracts, grouping him with Domantas Sabonis as an example of a higher-salaried option that might require additional outgoing salary to acquire.

The mention arrives against the backdrop of Golden State’s well-documented difficulty moving Porzingis, whose limited guaranteed money next year makes him more of a salary-matching tool than a building block.

Turner’s own deal, carrying roughly $83 million over the next three seasons, would force the Warriors to surrender meaningful assets or flexibility, a steep price for a player whose recent on-court impact has been modest at best.

That price looks especially steep because Turner’s play has been poor.

Through the first three games of the 2026-27 season he is averaging just 7.7 points and 4.3 rebounds while shooting 28.6 percent from three-point range, including a scoreless night against Philadelphia in which he played only 20 minutes before sitting the fourth quarter.

Last season, his first in Milwaukee, he managed only 11.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per game—numbers well below the productive stretch-big profile that once made him a two-time blocks leader and a key contributor on Indiana’s Finals run.

Defensively, he has looked smaller and less effective without a star forward to mask his limitations in space, and the Bucks have already begun giving more run to younger options such as Kel’el Ware.

For the Warriors, whose window still revolves around Stephen Curry, the gamble would be that a change of scenery restores the version of Turner who can space the floor and protect the rim at a high level.

Nothing in the early returns suggests that version is currently available.

Acquiring him would also consume salary space and draft capital that Golden State might prefer to keep for a higher-upside or more reliable addition.

The mere fact that his name is being floated therefore feels surprising: a team desperate for frontcourt stability is being linked to a center whose production has declined sharply, turning what might once have looked like a logical target into a high-risk proposition.
