The Philadelphia 76ers waived forward Saint Thomas and guard Duke Miles on Thursday, according to RealGM’s log of official NBA transactions, then signed Cris Carroll and Taye Fields to fill the corresponding spots on their roster.
All four players received Exhibit 10 contracts, a source told Chris Hine of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
These non-guaranteed training-camp deals typically position players for the G League; if waived before the regular season and they spend at least 60 days with an affiliate, they can earn a bonus of up to $91,000.
Thomas, Miles, Carroll, and Fields are all expected to open the 2026-27 season with the Delaware Blue Coats, Philadelphia’s G League affiliate.
The moves are largely procedural as the Sixers trim their camp roster toward the standard 15-man limit plus three two-way contracts, with the regular season set to open soon against the New York Knicks.
Duke Miles, an undrafted rookie, signed his Exhibit 10 deal in early July after a productive “super senior” season at Vanderbilt.
The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 16.1 points, 4.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and an SEC-leading 2.6 steals while shooting 43.5 percent from the field in 28 games. He had previously played at Troy, High Point, and Oklahoma.
Saint Thomas, a 6-foot-7 wing entering his second professional season, signed an Exhibit 10 with Philadelphia in early September.
He spent time with the Blue Coats last year after earlier camp stints and is expected to return there.
The newcomers bring fresh profiles. Cris Carroll, a 6-6 forward who went undrafted out of Youngstown State, averaged 17.4 points and 5.2 rebounds while shooting 39.6 percent from three as a senior in the Horizon League.
Taye Fields, undrafted in 2025 out of North Alabama, spent last season in Austria with the Kapfenberg Bulls, where he averaged roughly 12.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists, earned Defensive Player of the Year honors, and helped the club win the championship.
He also appeared in Summer League with the Sixers.
Three other Exhibit 10 players—Jameer Nelson Jr., Dillon Jones, and Tacko Fall—remain in camp.
While the names on the board have shifted, the likely destination for Thomas, Miles, Carroll, and Fields remains the same: developmental minutes with the Blue Coats as the organization finalizes its roster for the season ahead.
