The Los Angeles Dodgers opened their series against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday with a 4-1 victory, a welcome result after dropping their previous two games to the Miami Marlins.

As the club looks to build momentum in the middle of September, it has added two arms to the major-league roster by calling up right-handers Bobby Miller and Paul Gervase from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The moves, recorded on the official MiLB transaction tracker, give manager Dave Roberts extra options in the bullpen and potentially in the rotation as the Dodgers navigate a stretch of games that could shape their standing in the National League West.

Both pitchers have already seen time in Los Angeles this season, so the latest promotions represent a return rather than an introduction.

Miller’s major-league work in 2026 has been limited to a single outing in which he earned a win, posted a 3.00 ERA and recorded two strikeouts.

Over the past three seasons, he has made only 16 big-league appearances, a modest total that reflects both injuries and organizational depth.

His most substantial sample remains his 2023 rookie campaign, when he went 11-4 with a 3.76 ERA across 22 games and showed the kind of stuff that once made him a highly regarded prospect.

The Dodgers will now see whether that earlier form can reappear in a pennant-race setting.

Gervase has appeared in four games for Los Angeles this year, compiling a 2.35 ERA and eight strikeouts without a decision.

The bulk of his 2026 work has come in Oklahoma City, where he has logged 38 games, a 3-1 record, a 4.56 ERA and 66 strikeouts.

Those numbers suggest a pitcher who can miss bats but has also been hittable at times. His recent call-up indicates the club values his ability to eat innings and keep the ball in the park when the staff needs reinforcement.

Together the two promotions illustrate how the Dodgers continue to cycle talent between Triple-A and the majors even late in the season.

With the Reds series still unfolding, Miller and Gervase will have immediate opportunities to prove they belong.

How they perform in those spots could influence both the remainder of this series and the team’s broader pitching plans as October approaches.

The organization has long relied on its farm system to supply timely help; this latest pair of call-ups is another chapter in that approach.
