Ayesha Curry offered a confident assessment of her husband Stephen Curry’s remaining years in the NBA, describing a player who has refused to ease up even after last season’s physical setbacks.

“Steph is the hardest-working man in the room. He has no days off. He hasn’t stopped since last season ended. He’s ready… I think we’re going to be in for some fun surprises over the next couple of years,” she said.

The comments came from a recent conversation with NBC Sports Bay Area reporter Dalton Johnson and quickly circulated among Warriors fans looking for signs of what comes next for the franchise’s cornerstone.

Curry, 38, is heading into his 18th NBA season still wearing the only jersey he has ever worn in the league. He has four championships, two MVP awards and more made 3-pointers than anyone in history.

Last year was not easy. A knee injury cost him 27 consecutive games and limited what the Warriors could accomplish down the stretch. Golden State finished well outside the playoff picture after a play-in loss.

Those who know Curry say the time away only sharpened his focus. He has spent the months since the final buzzer working with the same intensity that defined his prime, adjusting his training as his body has changed.

Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy has said he remains confident Curry wants to finish his career in the Bay Area. Curry himself has spoken about wanting to play at least 20 seasons if his body allows it.

An extension window opened late last month. Whether a new deal gets done before training camp or later, the public message from both sides has been consistent: he wants to stay.

Ayesha Curry has watched the process from closer range than anyone. The couple married in 2011 after meeting as teenagers in a North Carolina church youth group. They now have four children.

She has built her own career in food, lifestyle branding, acting and philanthropy while raising the family and supporting a husband whose schedule rarely slows down.

Together they run Eat. Learn. Play., the Oakland-focused foundation that provides meals, literacy support and safe places for kids to be active. The work has earned them recognition as philanthropists of the year from The Hollywood Reporter.

The latest comments land as the couple squeezed in some downtime, including a recent trip that produced the kind of relaxed family photos fans have come to expect in August.

For Warriors supporters, the words carry extra weight because they come from the person who sees the daily grind that never makes the highlight reels.

Curry has long said he still wants to be the hardest worker in any room he enters. His wife’s description suggests that standard has not slipped.

The “fun surprises” line is the part that will linger. At this stage of a career, fans usually hear talk of winding down. Ayesha Curry is pointing in the other direction.

Whether those surprises arrive on the court, in the standings or somewhere else entirely, she made clear she believes her husband is prepared.

Training camp is weeks away. The Warriors will open another season with familiar questions about roster construction and championship windows.

If Ayesha Curry is right, the man at the center of those questions has already been putting in the work required to answer them.
