Bills Could Shock NFL With Monster Trade for Defensive Star

The Buffalo Bills, after a promising 4-0 start, have stumbled with consecutive losses, raising concerns about their offensive and defensive capabilities. The absence of a true No. 1 wide receiver is glaring, but their pass rush also demands attention, as no Buffalo defender has recorded more than two sacks this season.

To challenge the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs and pressure Patrick Mahomes, the Bills need a game-changer on the defensive line.

In a recent Bleacher Report article, Moe Moton proposed trade scenarios for Las Vegas Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby, identifying Buffalo as a prime destination. His suggested trade package has the Bills sending two first-round picks, a fifth-round pick, edge rusher A.J. Epenesa, and wide receiver Curtis Samuel to the Raiders for Crosby.

“Crosby rarely comes off the field, and he can strengthen the Bills’ 31st-ranked run defense, which is giving up a league-high 5.8 yards per carry,” Moton wrote. “Buffalo would have to engage in cap-space gymnastics to absorb Crosby’s contract, but it can be done by restructuring deals and trading veteran players.”

The cost of two first-round picks is significant, but it aligns with recent market trends, as seen in the Dallas Cowboys’ trade for Micah Parsons. Crosby’s 2025 performance includes 28 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, four sacks, and nine quarterback hits.

Despite injuries limiting him to 12 games last season, he still managed 45 tackles and 7.5 sacks, earning his fourth consecutive Pro Bowl nod.

Since his rookie year in 2019, when the fourth-round pick notched 10 sacks, Crosby has been a consistent force. He achieved back-to-back double-digit sack seasons in 2022 and 2023, peaking at 14.5 sacks in 2023 and placing fourth in Defensive Player of the Year voting.

Recently, Crosby inked a three-year, $106.5 million extension with the Raiders, securing him through 2029. However, with Las Vegas struggling at 2-5, trading the 28-year-old could kickstart a rebuild.

Should the Raiders opt to move Crosby, Buffalo would be an ideal fit, potentially reshaping the AFC landscape with his addition.
