Knicks Josh Hart Opens Up About Being Traded in NBA

New York Knicks wing Josh Hart is no stranger to being on the move in the NBA. Before he even stepped on the court he was traded once. As a first-round pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz, he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers along with Thomas Bryant for Tony Bradley.

Two years later, Josh Hart was part of the Anthony Davis blockbuster trade. Along with Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and a boatload of draft picks, the Villanova star was sent to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Ahead of the 2022 NBA Draft deadline, he was on the move again. This time, it was to the Portland Trail Blazers, as Josh Hart was a part of the package to bring talented scoring guard CJ McCollum to New Orleans.

A year later, nearly to the day, the Trail Blazers traded him again. This time it was to the New York Knicks, where Josh Hart is hoping to build some roots basketball-wise. Recently, he made an appearance on The Pivot and opened up on how all of the trades affected him, as he always thought he would stick with one franchise for a long time.

Being traded technically four times in your first six seasons as a professional is tough to deal with. As he noted, he put on a happy front but was hurting from seemingly being so expendable.

As they say, everything happens for a reason. It was a winding path to the Knicks, but Josh Hart could not have landed in a better situation. He is the perfect player for head coach Tom Thibodeau and has reunited with his collegiate teammates Jalen Brunson and Donte DiVincenzo.

That trio is as big of a reason as any that the Knicks are currently where they are. Big things are on the horizon for a New York team officially out of the doldrums of the NBA. Josh Hart is a big reason for that, embodying everything Knicks fans love to see on the court.
