Former Duke forward Sean Stewart has found his new collegiate home with the Ohio State Buckeyes. After a season with the Blue Devils, Stewart has announced his commitment to Ohio State, joining forces with new head coach Jake Diebler.

The news of Stewart’s decision was first reported by college basketball insider Jon Rothstein.

The versatile forward is set to bolster an already impressive transfer class for the Buckeyes, which includes the likes of former Kentucky standout Aaron Bradshaw and former San Diego State wing Micah Parrish.

Stewart’s freshman campaign at Duke saw him appear in 33 games, where he averaged 2.6 points and 3.2 rebounds in around eight minutes per game.

Despite limited playing time, Stewart showcased flashes of his potential, notably in a standout performance against La Salle, where he notched a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds off the bench in a commanding victory.

However, with Duke welcoming a new class of top recruits, including the highly touted Cooper Flagg, Stewart’s path to significant playing time in Durham seemed increasingly challenging. Opting for a fresh start, Stewart now looks forward to the opportunity to carve out a more substantial role with the Buckeyes.

For Ohio State, the addition of Stewart adds depth and versatility to their roster as they aim to return to the NCAA Tournament under the guidance of Coach Diebler. With Stewart’s skill set and potential for growth, Buckeyes fans can anticipate an exciting season ahead as the team looks to make a statement in the competitive landscape of college basketball.

It will be interesting to see what kind of impact Stewart can have for the Ohio State Buckeyes this season.
