The Philadelphia 76ers are not expected to pursue trades for Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam or Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

Both Siakam and LaVine are expected to be traded this season, but it looks like the Sixers are not interested in either All-Star.

“Philadelphia is routinely tossed out there as a likely trade bidder for Chicago’s Zach LaVine or Toronto’s Pascal Siakam, but a source with knowledge of the team’s thinking told me again this week that the Sixers should not be expected to pursue either player between now and Feb. 8,” Stein wrote.

Siakam, who is making $37.9 million this season, becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer. He’s averaging 22.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.3 blocks while shooting 52.3% from the field, 29.7% from beyond the arc and 75.5% from the free-throw line.

Meanwhile, LaVine is averaging 20.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.2 blocks while shooting 44.7% overall, 33.1% from 3 and 85.9% from the foul line. He’s making $40.1 million.

Any team that trades for Siakam this season can only offer him a two-year extension. According to Stein, Siakam doesn’t plan to sign an extension if he’s traded.

LaVine signed a five-year, $215 million contract with the Bulls in July 2022. Along with his large contract, LaVine’s subpar play this season on defense and the Bulls’ winning record without him have lowered his trade value around the NBA.

The Sixers are 23-12 on the season. They are in third place in the Eastern Conference standings. Daryl Morey doesn’t have to make a trade at the deadline, but since he’s one of the most aggressive executives in the NBA, most insiders expect Morey to make another deal after trading James Harden to the Los Angeles Clippers in November.
