It’s time for the Philadelphia Eagles to consider parting ways with Nick Sirianni, according to Fox Sports personality Craig Carton.
In the latest episode of “The Carton Show,” the experienced radio host outlined his reasons for why the Eagles should contemplate a change in leadership at the head coach position.
“I think there’s too much blood in the water for Philly to not make major changes. That’s off a year where they did have to make major changes because they lost their offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator. They have two significant issues. It is very clear that Nick Sirianni lost the locker room. Not a lot of guys, especially in today’s NFL world, can lose the locker room and get back to it. The easiest change to make is bring in a new coach. The other issue, and the question you don’t want to ask but you have to ask, is who is Jalen Hurts?”
Sirianni was recently questioned about his job security following the Eagles’ playoff loss on Monday night, and at that time, he didn’t seem overly concerned.
“I’m not thinking about that. I’m thinking about the guys. Again, there’s a lot of guys in that locker room, all the guys in that locker room, every single one of them that put their heart and soul into this. I’m not worried about me.”
Under Sirianni’s guidance, the Eagles have accumulated a record of 34-17, with the tantalizing prospect of lifting the Lombardi Trophy just within reach last season.
While Sirianni’s track record may suggest that he deserves more time to prove himself, it’s difficult to overlook the alarming decline of his team during the latter part of this season. Their impressive 10-1 start quickly transformed into an 11-6 record, leaving fans and critics alike with questions.
The upcoming decisions made by the Eagles organization in response to this disappointing conclusion to the 2023 season will certainly be intriguing to observe.
